Abstract

Introduction: The article examined the role of the Labor Prosecutor’s Office (MPT) in addressing electoral harassment in labor relations, framing the free and secret vote as a fundamental human right. It began with a historical overview of human rights and their interdependence with decent work and political participation.

Objective: It demonstrated the relevance of the MPT’s institutional role in preventing and repressing electoral harassment practices, highlighting its contribution to the protection of democracy and citizenship in the workplace.

Methodology: A bibliographical and documentary research was adopted, analyzing international treaties, Brazilian legislation, institutional resolutions, and case law from the Superior Labor Court, as well as technical documents issued by the MPT.

Results: It was found that electoral harassment is recognized as a violation of fundamental rights and that the MPT acts as an essential agent in articulating preventive and repressive measures, strengthening workers’ political freedom.

Conclusion: It was verified that electoral harassment was recognized as a violation of fundamental rights and that the MPT played an essential role in coordinating preventive and repressive measures, reinforcing workers’ political freedom.
